We are discovering music every day! Our music room is filled with instruments, such as drums, handbells, melody chimes, keyboards, guitars, and classroom percussion instruments. Students at every grade level study music through listening, singing, moving, and creating. Traditional music approaches are utilized. Composers of all cultures and through all eras are introduced to students too.

Students in 6-8th grade explore the world through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathmatics). Through our STEM special, our students are able to do creative experiments and projects that provide a hands-on learning opportunity.
STEM provides a space for our OLMC students to apply and investigate scientific principles as they might experience them in the real world.
Using a Project Based Learning (PBL) delivery model, students will examine Principles of Leadership through a Catholic lens. Each grade level will have a unique content focus, including Leadership in the Apostles (5th), Scripture (6th), the Saints & Parish (7th), and oneself (8th) with the theme, What sort of leader is God calling me to be? embedded throughout each year.
An emphasis on use of technology, including building a digital Portfolio of Growth and digital Capstone Projects will be the focal products of the Course.
Soft skills, such as collaboration, communication, self-analysis, organization, and other executive functioning skills will be assessed through activities completed while examining models of Catholic Leadership, integrating assignments with Homeroom classes, and providing leadership in the School and Community through Course Capstone Projects.

The goal of our Spanish curriculum is to develop positive attitudes and excitement toward learning the Spanish language. Through the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, students are able to broaden their awareness, acceptance, and understanding of the Hispanic culture.
This program is designed to accommodate varying levels of language learners. Additionally, elements of the Catholic faith traditions are integrated into this Spanish curriculum in order to provide a meaningful language and cultural experience within the context of our Catholic faith.
The library is designed to meet the needs of our K-8 school. Kindergarten through Grade 5 visits the library weekly. Grades 6-8 are on flex scheduling. The library collection fosters curriculum-related use as well as supplementing the language arts areas and pleasure reading. There is a library curriculum promoting library and information science skills necessary for life-long learning.
In addition to Literature, students will learn Indiana Department of Education (IDE) Computer Science standards and begin to explore the collaboration between technology and reading.
