    Music
    • We are discovering music every day! Our music room is filled with instruments, such as drums, handbells, melody chimes, keyboards, guitars, and classroom percussion instruments. Students at every grade level study music through listening, singing, moving, and creating. Traditional music approaches are utilized. Composers of all cultures and through all eras are introduced to students too.

    Visual Arts
    • Students in all grades have the opportunity to learn and work with the elements of art (form, shape, color, texture, space, line, value) in both two- and three-dimensional experiences using a variety of media and through the study of artists of varied styles, cultures, and eras.

Student's artwork is displayed throughout the school building and at our annual events.

    STEM (6-8th grade)
    • Students in 6-8th grade explore the world through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathmatics). Through our STEM special, our students are able to do creative experiments and projects that provide a hands-on learning opportunity.

STEM provides a space for our OLMC students to apply and investigate scientific principles as they might experience them in the real world.

    Computer (K-8)
    • Computer focues on teaching and enhancing students' technological skill sets. The goal is to ensure every student is able to navigate and use a computer efficiently for all educational purposes needed now and in the future.

Beginning with Kindergarten and carrying on through 8th, each grade level recieves tailored practice and lessons to grow with them as they move on to higher grade levels.

    Physical Education
    • All students are expected to be in proper uniform and to participate in Physical Education. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade attend gym once per week. Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade attends gym two times per week.

Grades K-3 will not change clothes for P.E. class. Grades 4-8 are expected to change into the physical education uniform for class.

A doctor’s note is required indicating the appropriate level of physical education activity for students who have sustained a significant injury or for students who, for another valid reason, need to be excused for a longer period of time. If a student has worn a cast or a splint, a doctor’s note is required to resume physical education activity.

    Spanish (2-5th grade)
    • The goal of our Spanish curriculum is to develop positive attitudes and excitement toward learning the Spanish language. Through the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, students are able to broaden their awareness, acceptance, and understanding of the Hispanic culture.

This program is designed to accommodate varying levels of language learners. Additionally, elements of the Catholic faith traditions are integrated into this Spanish curriculum in order to provide a meaningful language and cultural experience within the context of our Catholic faith.

    Library
    • The library is designed to meet the needs of our K-8 school. Kindergarten through Grade 5 visits the library weekly. Grades 6-8 are on flex scheduling. The library collection fosters curriculum-related use as well as supplementing the language arts areas and pleasure reading. There is a library curriculum promoting library and information science skills necessary for life-long learning.
