  • TO KNOW, LOVE, AND SERVE JESUS CHRIST
TO KNOW, LOVE, AND SERVE JESUS CHRIST
    • A Faith-Filled Environment

As a Catholic school, Our Lady of Mount Carmel seeks to provide a faith-filled environment for its students. The daily experience of students and teachers is permeated with our belief in God and prayer, service, and Catholic moral formation. The faith is integrated into daily curriculum, lessons, and activities.

    • “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain,
‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

      Matthew 17:20

    • Formation in Christ

Aware that the educational process is not simply a human activity but a Christian journey toward the Triune God, students are encouraged to recognize God in the sacraments, in doing His will, in one another, and in the everyday simple tasks which they perform. The students are partnered with the school community to develop a prayer life that unites them with Christ.

    A Life of Virtue
    • “The Catholic school’s task is fundamentally a synthesis of culture and faith, and a synthesis of faith and life: the first is reached by integrating all the different aspects of human knowledge through the subjects taught, in the light of the Gospel; the second is the growth of the virtues characteristic of the Christian.” (Congregation for Catholic Education, The Catholic School 37)

      VIRTUES IN PRACTICE
A program for children in grades pre-kindergarten through eight to grow closer to Jesus by imitating His life and virtues. It is set up in such a way that a whole school studies the same virtue each month, to provide a whole school (and at home, whole-family) focus. The program covers 27 virtues over a three-year cycle, with 81 saints held up as models of the virtues.
